Can Bayern Munich Win the UCL Title?

Bayern Munich’s mid fielder Javi Martinez won in the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and DFB Cup under the leadership of Jupp Heynckes in 2013, and he believes there’s no reason why his team should not win again under Niko Kovac in the upcoming term.

Kovac steered Eintracht Frankfurt to the DFB Cup at Bayern’s expense in May before he succeeded Heynckes who went into retirement in his second spell in the Allianz Arena in July.

Since Martinez’ signing from Athletic Bilbao in 2012, he has played under the likes of Pep Guardiola, Willy Sagnol and Carlo Ancelotti. Having experienced coaching from such names in the industry, he believes that his new coach has what it takes to make them bring home the UCL title.

Martinez who is currently in the USA for the International Champions Cup, explained that every coach has his own book and ways of coaching. He pointed out that Kovac has a different tactic and concept. Martinez is says that they are training well, doing great things and they will play very well with him. He added that he is so eager to have the competition started.

Martinez is one of the eight players who were in Bayern’s famous continental treble campaign five years ago. The others were Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and David Alaba. It is with great hope that the right ingredients are in order to bring home the UCL title home once again.

As part of Bayern Munich, Martinez believes that one needs to attempt to get as many titles as possible. Martinez pointed out that winning the champions league is also their dream. He was there when they won the last champions league and he wants his team to win it again with them. He says that the Bundesliga is also a big goal for them and the DFB cup as well. Jupp Heynckes made it possible for Bayern to win the 2013 treble before his retirement.

They have the right ingredients; their team

Bayern brags of a great midfield where they have Javi Martinex who has moved from centre back to the holding role where he occupies the middle of the park along with Thiago Alcantara and indestructible Arturo Vidal. They have other gifted players like James Rodriguez who they have on load from Real Madrid, Corentin Tolisso and Sebastian Rudy. These are players who can face any team they meet on the pitch.

At the centre back is made of some of the best players. These are Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels who are a blend of solidity and athleticism. On the left they have David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich who is on the left. Kimmich has not only shown himself as Germany’s and Bayern’s first choice. When they want cover they have the likes of Rafinha, Sule and Bernat.

With such an impressive team, it is evident that Bayern will be on to win the UCL title.
